RECASAS

RECASAS grew out of a simple observation: many people do not suffer only from what they have lived, but from the narrow language available to describe it.

In many contexts today, human experience is quickly interpreted, categorized, diagnosed or explained. I wanted to create a space where something else becomes possible — a place where stories can remain open, where meanings can expand rather than close, and where imagination is not treated as decoration but as a resource.

RECASAS is therefore not therapy and not a self-help program.
It is a creative social space.

Through shared reading, writing, conversation, and artistic exploration, participants explore different ways of telling — and retelling — the stories of their lives. Often nothing in the past changes, yet its weight shifts when new words, perspectives, and associations become available.

I founded RECASAS because I believe resilience does not only grow from coping strategies, but from narrative freedom — from the possibility of being more than one explanation.

More detailed information about the concept, activities, and current projects can be found on the official website: https://recasas.org/

At the moment, I am also looking for additional founding Gesellschafterinnen (stewards) who would like to help shape the long-term structure and future of RECASAS.
This role includes shared legal and financial responsibility for the organization.who would like to help shape the long-term structure and future of RECASAS.
If you can imagine yourself as one of the founding members — willing to take on responsibility as a Gesellschafterin of this organization — please feel free to contact me.
